Bella Poarch’s birthday

Background

Bella Poarch was born in the Philippines on February 9, 1997 to her Filipino biological parents. Her grandmother lived in the slums until she was three years old, when she was adopted. Her adoptive father is a white American with military experience, and her adoptive mother is Filipina. She claims that she and her adopted brother were abused from childhood until she was drafted into the army. Her family moved to San Francisco for a few months to live with her aunt, then moved to Texas when she was 13 due to her father needing bypass surgery. She claims that the physical abuse had subsided, but she still faced psychological abuse from her father at home. She enlisted in the US Navy when she turned 18.

Poarch opened his TikTok account in April 2020 and quickly became famous, amassing more than 40 million fans in less than eight months. She uploaded various videos, but her biggest hit was the video for Millie B’s viral song “Soph Aspin Send.”

The zoomed-in video of her rhythmically jumping and lip-syncing to the tune went viral and became one of TikTok’s most popular videos of all time. A few months after she joined TikTok, she opened YouTube and Twitter accounts to capitalize on her fame. Poarch’s growing fame reached its peak in December 2020. She has reportedly attracted interest from two major professional esports teams. 100 Thieves and FaZe Clan have expressed interest in hiring her as a content creator for their respective brands.

Poarch was criticized for wearing a tattoo resembling the rising sun flag in his videos. In September 2020, she apologized and said she would take care of it immediately. In 2020, she released a limited-edition clothing line, RIPNDIP x Paca Collaboration.

Due to the rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans, Poarch has publicly voiced her support for combating anti-Asian racism. She spoke about this and conveyed this message in a video that she posted on TikTok on March 19, 2021. She also spoke to Vogue about her experiences as an Asian child in the United States. After migrating to the United States from the Philippines, she was “treated differently” and “randomly attacked and assaulted.”

In May 2021, Poarch signed a contract with Warner Records and released her first song. Billboard described the accompanying music video as “a bold, darkly comic piece of new-school pop.” It was created in collaboration with Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve, the producer and songwriter known as Sub Urban.

Other famous internet personalities featured in the video include Valkyrie, Mia Khalifa, Bretman Rock and ZHC. In an episode of the 100 Thieves podcast, Poarch noted that the song was inspired by her childhood experiences of being bullied. She also stated on the show that she always wanted to be a singer.
