Bloodborne’s player count increased by 57% on PlayStation 4 in July 2024, and it looks like the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has had similar positive effects on other games.
He remake from Bloodborne exclusive from Game console on PS4 it seems it doesn’t reach PS5, PC and Steam Deck, but DLC Elden Ring has increased player count and Shadow of the Erdtree has buffs.
As TrueTrophies reports, they may be protesting because they don’t have any new trophies, or they may just miss Yharnam because July 2024 turned out to be a good month for FromSoftware’s game..
The two situations are related because they do not reflect the overall player base. The expansion’s release last June increased Bloodborne’s player base shortly after its launch.
The aforementioned media used a sample of game data from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts as they used it to track PS5 and PS4 players in Bloodborne every week.
Thanks to this data, they saw an increase in the number of players Exclusively for FromSoftware for PlayStation 4 which coincides with Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree release.
From the beginning of June 2024 (week ending Sunday the 9th) to the week after said premiere (week ending Sunday the 30th), that number increased by 57.77% for the entire month.
It doesn’t look like anything more than that.mental fever” is caused by fans who asked Sony and/or FromSoft to remake the game for PlayStation or Windows and got nothing but disappointment.
But there are differences from the studio’s other games, too, because other games like Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Dark Souls Remastered haven’t had such high peaks in months like these.
In the release week of Shadow of the Erdtree, ending June 30th, the game takes place in Yharnam won 11.61% of players and became The 65th Most Popular PlayStation Game This Week.
While it seems like a ritual at the start of every summer, 12 months ago we saw Bloodborne being one of the most popular games on PS4 and PS5 in July 2023.
The most important thing at the time was that it outperformed recent releases like Monster Hunter Rise or Dead Island 2, which had even more merit.
The only FromSoftware game to see an increase in active players (other than those already mentioned here) was Dark Souls III, although that’s another I really liked Soulsborne.
The game was released in 2016 and saw a relatively small increase in player numbers (5.9%), becoming The 121st Most Popular PlayStation Game This Week.
Many are still waiting for a remake from Bluepoint, the studio working on the new IP. So it’s all about Sony, which has been ignoring the adventure for years and ignoring users.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Has Unforeseen Consequences for Another FromSoftware Game and to the millions of copies sold is added 57% More Players in Bloodborne.
