Brian Gil, new member of the national team, will face Denmark and Serbia | Football | Sport
The Spanish Football Federation has announced that Girona striker Brian Gil will not join the national team ahead of the Nations League matches against Denmark and Serbia due to the Andalusian player’s injury. “Girona player Brian Gil is withdrawing due to physical discomfort and will not train with the Spanish national team following negotiations between his club’s medical services and the Spanish national team. The striker has been called up by Luis de la Fuente to take part in the matches against Denmark in Murcia and against Serbia in Cordoba in the Nations League,” the federation said in a statement.
Injuries are affecting the national team as Brian Heal has been called up by De la Fuente following the injury absence of Nico Williams and Ferran Martinez from Athletic and Barcelona respectively. Brian Heal took part in the match that his team Girona played this Sunday, winning the Catalan team over Athletic (2-1). In principle, everything indicates that the national team coach will not call a single player to replace the Andalusian winger for these two matches of Spain in the Nations League. The Spaniards will face Denmark in Murcia next Saturday, October 12, and Serbia in Cordoba, October 15.
