Cabildo celebrates World HIV/AIDS Day with a campaign under the theme: “Break the silence, raise awareness.”
The initiative aims to highlight the importance of breaking the silence, raising collective awareness and promoting HIV prevention, eliminating stigmas and promoting a more informed and supportive society.
As part of this celebration, the manifesto was read by representatives of the Red Cross of Tenerife, Médecins du Monde Tenerife and the LGBTQIA association Diversas*.

As part of this celebration, an event was held today (Tuesday) where representatives Red Cross Tenerife, Doctors of the world Tenerife and Association Various LGBTQI*. This event took place in the Noble Hall of the Cabildo, and was attended by the President of the island corporation Rosa Davila; Prevention Education Consultant, Juan Manuel Acosta; Island Director of Equity and Diversity, Patricia Leon; Alvaro Torres Lanaa representative of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, and Jesus Delgado SantanaPrimary Health Care Manager for the Tenerife Health District.
Rosa Davila He noted that the campaign slogan “is not just a reminder, but a commitment to build a more empathetic and prejudice-free society in which all people can live fulfilling lives without fear of rejection.” Thus, World AIDS Day It remains as relevant as when it was first carried out. This reminds us that the fight against HIV is not over and that action and awareness are needed from everyone. “This not only highlights the importance of prevention and access to testing, but also the need to remove barriers of silence and shame surrounding this chronic disease,” said the island’s president.
