Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the future of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric
Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, has postponed until the end of the season the time to talk about continuity or farewell to Toni Kroos and Luka Modricmaking it clear that The German midfielder is “a man with almost no doubts” and that he never had any problems with the Croatian due to him playing fewer minutes this season.
He said nothing about the future of Kroos and Modric.Ancelotti also left no hint on the possibility that the two midfielders who made history at Real Madrid would extend their contracts, which expire on June 30, for another year.
“Tony as a person is as German as I am, in this sense I feel very German. I don’t talk much, I prefer to listen, and that’s how he is, but when he needs to say something, he does it very clearly,” he admitted.
“This is a man who has few doubts, he is a very clear, very honest person. I like him. Besides being Italian, I feel a little German,” he added.
Modric’s role change this season, from being an undisputed starter to being a regular substitute player, has not diminished his good relationship with his manager. Ancelotti himself admitted this.
“I never had a problem with Modric because before he became a top-level player, one of the best midfielders in the world, he is even more impressive as a person. We have never had problems and never will.” because we respect each other very much,” he said.
For Carletto, the continuity of Kroos and Modric is a “secondary issue” for now, focused on finishing the Champions League, although he admitted he is “always optimistic” about the continuity of the two. “At the moment we are focused on the games we have to play and nothing else. We’ll talk about the future after the final.”
Real Madrid’s next match will be against Villarreal as the championship has already been won and the Madrid coach asks his players to maintain the same level as the last few days with big wins.
“We are approaching it as a preparation match for the match on June 1, we are going with the whole squad. It is important to have a good attitude and momentum to have a competitive rhythm in a match in which Villarreal plays a lot. Our goal is to maintain the good dynamics of recent times,” he admitted.
“The best way to prepare for the last game is to play to one hundred percent of our capabilities because we did very well against Granada and Alaves. It will be the same tomorrow. In these last two games I said very little and we scored nine goals and never got on form. I’m thinking about talking less because things are going very well,” he added.
Finally, Ancelotti highlighted the progress that Brazilian Eder Militao has shown in every game since overcoming a serious knee injury in the first game of the season. He will start again and has a chance to play in the Champions League final.
“If he’s not 100 percent, from what I’ve seen in the last few games, he’s very close. He is very good, he has improved a lot and will also play tomorrow. I see that he is close to his best level.” Obviously we have the opportunity to play in the final,” he said.
