The Oscar protocol establishes a dress code known as “black tie”, that is, that men must come in a tuxedo and women in a long evening or cocktail dress below the knee.

The common denominator has been moderation. The actresses have preferred to bet on contained pieces and classic and flattering patterns from European firms such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Valentino, Dior or Chanel.

Despite being a black and white edition, the color bets have been very successful, as has been the case of Cate Blanchett, very elegant with a set made by Nicolas Guesquière, creative director of the Louis Vuitton house, made up of a blouse ” oversize” in electric blue and a black skirt that ends in an elegant and flirty train.

The model and actress Cara Delevingne has worn a red Elie Saab haute couture design with an opening in the skirt that has allowed her to show her legs, a pose with which she has winked at Angelina Jolie in one of the most remembered moments of the Oscars.

Ana de Armas, nominated for best leading actress for her role in “Blonde” -where she plays Marilyn Monroe-, wore a white and gold mermaid-cut dress with a ruffled train by Louis Vuitton.

Jessica Chastain has not gone unnoticed, in a silver beaded dress topped by a black velvet train, by Gucci and a diamond and emerald choker.

On the dress of the Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo you could read “Women, Life, Freedom” (“Women, Life, Freedom”) along with the names of Mahsa Amini, Hajar Abbasi and Nika Shakarami, all victims of the repression of the Iranian regime .

FROM SALMA HAYEK’S ORANGE TO HALLE BAILEY’S CELESTE

Salma Hayek, who attended the gala with her daughter Paloma Pinault, shone in an orange sequined outfit by Gucci, a firm also chosen by Jessica Chastain, clad in a superb silver-colored creation topped with a black train.

The design of Angela Bassett has turned out to be very attractive, a glamorous lily-colored dress from the firm Moschino, a nod to the golden Hollywood like that of actress Sandra Oh, with Greek-inspired pleats.

If the actress Halle Bailey, who stars in the adaptation of “The Little Mermaid”, has chosen to opt for a guamarine-colored piece by Dolce&Gabbana, Allison Williams has opted for a powdery pink with slight transparencies by Giambattista Valli.

Stephanie Hsu, nominated for best supporting actress for “Everything at Once Everywhere,” wore a pink Valentino couture train gown, accompanied by Cartier jewels.

NICOLE KIDMAN, AMONG THOSE WHO BETS ON BLACK

Away from the shine of other occasions, Lady Gaga, in black, has gone practically unnoticed with a set by Versace, one of her favorite brands.

In rigorous black and with transparencies that allowed her to show off her second pregnancy, Rihanna appeared, nominated in the category of best song for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

For her performance at the gala, the Barbados opted for an ensemble with crystal threads by Maison Margierla combined with latex opera gloves and DeBeers jewelry.

Elegant in black have been Nicole Kidman with an Armani creation, adorned with two large flowers, Jennifer Connelly and Ava DuVernauy with each Louis Vuitton with silver details.

Black has been chosen by Elizabeth Olsen with a V-neck design by Givenchy and by Vanessa Hudgens, with a “vintage” piece by Chanel with a tubular pattern that has a strapless neckline edged in white.

Actress Sara Polley has posed in a Saint Laurent tuxedo. It is one of the strongest trends: we already saw it at the Goya Awards with the heart-stopping look of Milena Smit, also signed by this French house.

MICHELLE YEOH AND MICHELLE WILLIAMS, IN WHITE

Actress Florence Pugh has triumphed in a theatrical gown with a dramatic slit sewn by Valentino and veteran Jamie Lee Curtis, best supporting actress for “Everything At Once Everywhere”, in an elegant white Dolce&Gabbana design full of beading.

Michelle Williams, from Chanel and Michelle Yeoh, from Christian Dior also opted for white, as did Rooney Mara with an Alexander McQueen from 2008 and Halle Berry who finished off her Tamara Ralph design with bronze-tone flowers.

Emily Blunt has joined the pristine white trend with a simple dress from the Valentino house and Rooney Mar has worn a creation by Alexander McQueen, one of the most original dresses of the night.

White has also been the color chosen by actresses Zoe Saldaña, who has worn a Fendi slip dress; Eva Longoria in a Zuhair Murad; Ariana DeBose with a Versace and Sofía Carson who has opted for a princess cut design by Giambattista Vali and a fabulous choker of diamonds and emeralds by Chopard.

The Oscar protocol establishes the “dress code” known as “black tie”, that is, that men must come dressed in a tuxedo, like Austin Butler, who lives one of the most glorious moments of his career thanks to “Elvis” , has used one of the firms of the moment, Saint Laurent, and has worn a design that is as classic as it is elegant.

The actors Antonio Banderas, Ricardo Darín and Colin Farrell, who attended accompanied by his son Henry Tadeusz Farrell, have followed the protocol wearing the classic tuxedo with a white shirt and black bow tie.

Lukas Dhont has been one of the most original of the night with a piece signed by Prada that consisted of a double-breasted jacket combined with a brocade shirt to match the gloves. Underneath the shirt, a powerful red turtleneck.

If Paul Mescal has put a note of color with a red rose on the lapel of his white jacket, Brendan Fraser has done it with a diamond brooch on the lapel.

Although most men have opted for the most classic option such as the black tuxedo, white shirt and black bow tie, others have preferred to cover it.

This has been the case of the singer Lenny Kravitz who attended the event in black with Saint Laurent trousers and a blouse draped at the waist, a creation that I adorn with several chains and crosses on the chest.

The American actor of Mexican origin Harvey Guillén has attended in a black suit with volume and damask fabric and the actor and singer Harry Shum Jr. who has worn a white and blue tuxedo cinched at the waist with a sash, which was coordinated in the same tone than the bow tie.
