Ford is updating one of its greatest bestsellers with a clear commitment to electrification and a multimedia experience. More power and a clear commitment to the multimedia environment
The third generation Ford Kuga has been on the market for four years. So, everything pointed to 2024 being the year of the facelift, which would once again boost sales of the car that really matters for the oval firm.
This model, produced in Almussafes, has received an interesting modification with the least amount of aesthetic changes. Regardless, we will find new LED headlights at the front (with a light line connecting both sides) and at the rear, an updated bumper and more options in terms of colors and wheels.
Inside, this 2024 Ford Kuga update adds great 13.2″ central screen which combines all the functions of an air conditioner. So we say goodbye to all the physical buttons to control these functions and most of the ones that were at the bottom of the screen. This is accompanied by a 12.3-inch digital painting.
The infotainment system will be controlled by SYNC 4, the latest operating system from the Americans, which includes over-the-air updates, voice recognition and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay without cables, as well as support for two mobile phones at the same time. .
This SYNC 4 also adds 5G connectivity and Alexa built-in, which improves the capabilities related to voice recognition and in addition allows us to control the home automation devices in our home that are compatible with Alexa.
At the mechanical level Ford Kuga 2024 says goodbye completely to Diesel. Its propellers are no longer fitted with this model’s update and the majority of the offering is electrified.
The available version is limited to a three-cylinder petrol engine producing 150 PS, which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Above are the hybrid versions. All will use the 2.5 four-cylinder engine, which will be available in front-wheel drive (180 hp) and all-wheel drive (183 hp).
The same unit will also be used in the plug-in hybrid version, which will be positioned as the top model. In this case, it has front-wheel drive and a 243 hp engine, which will start as soon as we have covered the 69 kilometers of autonomy in pure electric mode that it approves.
In terms of affordability, the new Ford Kuga is now available from €32,772.46. The plug-in hybrid model costs €38,919, but can be reduced slightly with the MOVES III plan.
