All about Xiaomi SU7 Ultra
From track to street and from prototype to approved version, circulation is free. This is the message that Xiaomi wanted to convey at its event, and one that was put forward by Lei Jun just a few hours before.
The presentation was given by Lei Jun, excited about what he considers his “dream car”which was built in just a few months, considering that we first saw the “base” car less than a year ago.
Just as they have already advanced with their more down-to-earth versions, Xiaomi is once again opting for “bigger and better”. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype is equipped with three motors and a Qilin II battery from CATL, breaking its record. In both cases, we are talking about the most advanced options that the Chinese company has on hand. The V8 engine is produced in-house and boasts performance like never before. Total power is 1548 hp. We will see all this on the tram.
This production version of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will have the same CATL battery as the prototype. This is one of the most advanced in the world. The maximum peak voltage of 897 V allows it to charge at a temperature of 5.2 C. With its help, it manages to charge from 10 to 80% of the capacity in 11 minutes. A very high figure for a battery with a capacity of 93.7 kWh.
All of the above allows the street version to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds, 200 km/h in 5.87 seconds and maximum speed 350 km/h. It is only one hundredth slower than the prototype in the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h. To do this, they made extensive use of carbon fiber, which allows them to save 12 kg on the roof alone compared to the versions already presented.
Also visible is a huge carbon fiber rear spoiler (which takes up most of the cabin) and a rear diffuser that uses active aerodynamics to open and close, creating more downforce for faster cornering.
They boast having the “largest cabo-ceramic disc brakes fitted to an electric vehicle” courtesy of Akebono, or a suspension with high-performance shock absorbers signed by Bilstein.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will also have a large number of accessories that will make driving even more fun. For this version we have exclusive upholstery, a steering wheel in carbon fiber and Alcantara or a soundtrack that changes depending on the selected driving mode. The kit also includes an external speaker that transmits more sound outside the cabin.
In the presentation, Xiaomi did not hesitate to compare itself with Porsche or Tesla. He guarantees that he Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is faster and more efficient than the Porsche Taycan or Tesla Model S Plaid.
Regarding its launch, Xiaomi assures that we should see the first devices on the street in the second half of 2025. Its starting price is 814,900 yen (105,648.36 euros at the exchange rate).
The price, however, is lower than the Tesla Porsche Taycan Turbo GT (1,998,000 yuan or 259,000 euros) and exactly the same as the Tesla Model S Plaid.
