Everything seems to indicate that the return of Childish Gambino is closer than ever, since recently the streaming service hinted that along with the premiere of the series swarm, glover will release a small collection of songs. As it appears on the Amazon Prime Video YouTube channel, this EP would be launching next Friday, March 17.
The great revelation occurred yesterday, when the platform shared a preview of swarmhis new show in co-created by donald glover and Janine Nabers, the masterminds behind Atlanta. Even in the same clip we can hear one of the new songs of Childish Gambino, which is titled “Sticky”.
swarm has been described as a kind of “sister of Atlanta that lives in the same tonal space”. Inspired by films by Martin Scorsese and Michael Haneke, the story follows in the footsteps of Dre, a young woman who is obsessed with a fictional pop star who bears striking similarities to Beyoncé.
The series stars Dominique Fishback and includes performances by Chloe Bailey as Dre’s sister Marissa and Damson Idris as her charismatic boyfriend. Notably, Bailey is one half of the Grammy-nominated R&B duo Chloe x Halle, who are signed to Beyoncé’s label, Parkwood Entertainment.
