Coachella 2023 lineup: Bad Bunny, Blackpink, Frank Ocean

After two years of pandemic postponements and lineup chaos, the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio will feature its most global and diverse lineup of headliners to date.
Urban music superstar Bad Bunny, K-pop girl group Blackpink and reclusive R&B icon Frank Ocean are scheduled to headline the 22nd edition of the festival, which will draw 125,000 fans a day to the Empire Polo Club during the weekends of April 14-16 and April 21-23. This year marks the first time the festival will be headlined entirely by non-white artists.
Festival promoters Goldenvoice and AEG originally booked Ocean as the headliner for the 2020 festival, which Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett delayed and ultimately canceled during the worst of the pandemic. While Ocean hasn’t performed in Los Angeles since 2017 or released an album since 2016, the mercurial singer recently reissued his landmark “Blonde” LP on vinyl, and is expected to perform new material at the festival.
Bad Bunny, the artist with the most streams on Spotify in 2022, will make his second appearance at Coachella, following a main stage established in 2019. The Puerto Rican singer, rapper and actor will be the first artist from Latin America and the first artist in Spanish to headline the festival. His most recent album, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” helped launch his recent career in global arenas, including two sold-out nights at SoFi Stadium in September and October, on the highest-grossing tour of all time by a Latin artist. .
Blackpink, who made a raucous debut at the festival in 2019, now return as a frontline act on the back of their second album, “Born Pink”. The group sold out two nights at Banc of California Stadium in LA in November, and will be the first Asian act to headline Coachella.

Further on the bill, Spanish experimentalist Rosalía, Afrobeats titan Burna Boy and K-pop star Jackson Wang have prominent slots. Other notable acts include Latin alternative pop singers Kali Uchis and Becky G; hip-hop standouts Pusha T, Doechii, Glorilla, Flo Milli and Suicideboys; please welcome alt-rock veterans Björk, Blondie, Gorillaz and The Chemical Brothers; and Gen Z favorites Linda Lindas, Dominic Fike and The Kid Laroi. Also featured are 2023 Best New Artist Grammy nominees Tobe Nwigwe, Wet Leg and Domi and JD Beck.
Last year’s Coachella return, while well received by COVID-weary fans, got off to a rocky start, with headliner Travis Scott dropping out after the 2021 Astroworld mass casualty event, followed by Kanye West also canceling just before. for the festival to begin.
Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and a combination of the Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd eventually led the event.
While Coachella was the most profitable music festival in America again last year, 2022 was a challenging year for the festival industry as a whole. Other Goldenvoice festivals like Day N Vegas and Palomino faced market difficulties.
Tickets for both Coachella weekends, which start at $499, are already sold out.
The Stagecoach country music festival will take place at the same site from April 28-30, with headliners Luke Bryan, Kane Brown and Chris Stapleton.
