Israel has killed nearly 200 people in 12 attacks on schools so far in October

So far in October alone, Israel has killed 192 people in 12 attacks against schools, most of which have now been converted into reception camps for those displaced by the war. That country’s military justifies its attacks against educational centers by arguing that Hamas command posts operate from there and therefore they are legitimate targets.

These are all the attacks that Israel has carried out against schools in the Gaza Strip so far this month:

1 October – Bombing against the Shejaiya school, in the Al-Tafah neighborhood, in Gaza City, in the center of the Strip. According to Gaza Civil Defense figures, seven people were killed and 40 injured in the attack.

2 October – Bombing of four schools in the north and center of the strip: in Muscat, Rimal, Bureij and Nussirat. The Hamas-controlled Gaza Civil Defense claims at least 22 people were killed in the attacks.

6th October – Bombing of the Ibn Rushd school in Deir al-Balah, in the center of the strip. A mosque was also targeted in the attack, killing 26 people, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry.

9 October – Bombing of al-Rafi school in Jabaliya, north of the Palestinian enclave. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 15 people were killed in the attack.

10 October – Bombing of Rufaida al-Aslamiya school in Deir al-Balah. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 28 people were killed and 54 others were injured in the attack.

14 October – Bombing against al-Mufti school in Nussirat refugee camp. According to the Gaza government, 22 people were killed and another 80 were injured in the attack.

17 October – Bombing on Abu Hussain School in Jabaliya. According to Gaza Civil Defense, 22 people were killed in the attack.

22 October – Tank attack against Kreism school in Yabaliya. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, seven people were killed by artillery fire.

24 October – Bombing on Shuhada School in Nusirat. According to the Strip’s health ministry, at least 17 people have died as a result of the attack.
