Jordan assures that missile launched from Lebanon falls south of Amman without causing any damage

The Jordanian army has assured that a missile launched last night from southern Lebanon fell in a desert and uninhabited area south of the capital Amman, causing no casualties or damage, official sources said this Sunday.

A military official said, “A ‘Grad’ missile fell in an uninhabited desert area of ​​Muwakkar, south of Amman (…) The missile launched from southern Lebanon resulted in no human or material damage.” In a military statement, on condition of anonymity, on behalf of the Jordanian Armed Forces.

The city of Muwakkar is located in northwestern Jordan, just 30 kilometers southeast of Amman and about 150 kilometers from Lebanon.

The projectile’s impact occurred shortly after the Israeli military reported that they had activated sirens in the Jerusalem area “following a launch from Lebanon into Israeli territory”.

Jordan has previously shot down drones launched from other countries, including Iran and Iraq, that were aimed at Israel.
