Courtois criticizes Real Madrid’s first half
Thibaut Courtoisgoalkeeper Real Madrid, criticized the first part of his team against Borussia Dortmund 2-0 down at half-time and pondering the response in the second half, in which he believed they played “with the intensity the match deserves” in the Champions League.
“We didn’t perform very well in the first half. We didn’t press well, they created too much danger for us. They scored two goals very quickly and they had other chances… we corrected that at half-time. We need to see where we can improve. We reacted and knew that if we scored the first goal we could win. In the second half we pressed each other better, we played well, with the intensity that a Champions League game deserves, and that makes all the difference,” he said on Movistar+.
“They play too easy for us in the penalty area. Brandt, He has a good shot, he took the shot and I made a good save, but the ball could have gone into the top corner and at half-time the score was 0-3. We had to wake up and react, but we won’t always react. On Saturday we have to start the same way we did in the second half,” he added.
