CST holds Menopause Day “Taking care of your health”

This morning a menopause update day called Taking care of your health.

The day, organized by CST’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Service, aimed to update the understanding of menopause for all groups who support women at this stage of life, providing tools for counselling, guidance and treatment on menopause-related topics. and promote healthy habits to improve your quality of life during this stage.

It should be taken into account that with increasing life expectancy, the need for assistance during menopause, a key stage for women with special needs, has increased, involving various specialists and constantly updating its management.

The day was aimed at specialists in primary health care, gynecology and obstetrics, endocrinology, nursing staff in these specialties, midwives and nutritionists.

The inauguration was conducted by Monica Botta, CST Director of Guardianship; Angels Vives, CST Obstetrics and Gynecology Services Director, and Mabel Cajuela, CST Obstetrics and Gynecology Services Physician Assistant and ASSIR Medical Coordinator and Conference Co-Director.

The day included various presentations, for example by Beatriu Roca, Associate Doctor in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service and Menopause and Pelvic Floor Specialist at CST, with Premature ovarian failure, early diagnosis and treatment ; Sonia Sanchez is a junior doctor in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service and a menopause specialist at ASSIR. Robert from the University Hospital Germans Tries i Pujol, with HT, indications and non-hormonal alternatives ; Christina Perez, CST nutritionist, with Nutrition during menopause ; Beatriz Roca with Genitourinary syndrome ; Raquel Campos, gynecologist and sexologist, President of the Spanish Society of Aesthetic, Regenerative and Functional Gynecology, with Sexual health during menopause ; Claudia Ramirez, CST midwife, with Midwife-led menopause groups and Xavier Noguez, chief of internal medicine service at Del Mar Hospital and director of the Translational Medical Research Program, with Treatment of osteoporosis in menopause .

Beatriu Roca, co-director of the day, was in charge of closing and summing up.
