Betular was born on 20 October 1982 in Dolores. Like many young people in the city, after completing his secondary studies at technical school he moved to Buenos Aires to study gastronomy and take his first steps in the world of work. He began his academic training at the Argentine Institute of Gastronomy (IAG), from which he graduated as Gastronomic Professional in 2002 and later as Professional Pastry Chef in 2003.

After graduating, he made several trips to gain experience in pastry: in those years he visited London, Mexico and Japan. While living in New York City, he studied at the renowned Culinary Institute of America. His start in the world of hospitality began at the Algodon Mansion boutique hotel in Recoleta and he continued at the Buenos Aires Grand Hotel.

He eventually joined the Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt Hotel as a pastry chef. It was here that he was able to create his own designs, which, combined with excellent pastry techniques and the highest quality ingredients, have delighted celebrities such as Mick Jagger, Emma Watson and Uma Thurman.
