“Damsel”: New trailer for Millie Bobby Brown’s film for Netflix skip-enter

“Damsel” is the new Netflix movie starring Millie Bobby Brown. The “Stranger Things” and “Enola Holmes” actress embarks on a new adventure in a film from Oscar-nominated director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Although it sounds like a fairy tale, it is not. What is “Maiden” about?

The film “Damsel” is the story of a young woman who is able to defend herself with a sword in her hand. According to the Netflix synopsis, an obedient young woman “agrees to marry a handsome prince, but later discovers it was all a trap.” “The royal family recruited the young woman as a sacrifice to repay an old debt. Then, they throw him into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, and rely entirely on his wits and will to survive.”

“Damsel” was filmed in historical locations in Portugal, such as the Batalha Monastery and the Convent of Christ, from where we will see the young maiden Elodie fighting for her life. The film was announced in 2020 and, although it was scheduled to be released the following year, was not given the opportunity and was then delayed to an October 13 premiere due to the Hollywood strike. Now it will arrive in the platform’s catalog in 2024, as Netflix confirmed in its Geek Week.

Production

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, nominated for Best Short Film at the Academy Awards, will direct “Damsel.” The screenwriter is Dan Mezzo (“Clash of the Titans 2”) and the producers are Joe Roth and Jeff Kirshenbaum.
