The world monarch of taekwondo in the 49 kilograms category, Daniela Paola Souza Naranjois preparing to start the multiple international commitments that it will have this year, motivated by the crown that it obtained in the Guadalajara World Championship 2022 which was held last November.
This year, the national taekwondo team will face the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023scheduled to take place from June 23 to July 8 in The Savior; the Pan American Games Santiago de Chile 2023which will take place from October 20 to November 5 and the World Championship of the discipline in Baku, Azerbaijan, with a date to be confirmed.
“I think that we already know the path by heart, we know that we have to return with good preparation, return to the bases, have a good general preparation to endure what is coming this year, which are a lot of competitions, but also motivated , with great confidence and with many more dreams to fulfill,” said the representative of Baja California, in an interview with the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports.
Regarding her world Gold medal, the also champion of the Pan American Games Lima 2019recognized that he still savors that triumph, for which he prepared hard during hard training sessions, however, he is already aiming for his next challenge: paris 2024.
“It is a moment that we will never forget, we prepared for it and now our great objective is the Olympic Games, to obtain a medal in the Olympic Games, this was a great step, the Guadalajara 2022 World Championship was the fundamental competition of the year, so having obtained the best expected result of the year leaves us with a great taste in our mouths and also a greater commitment to continue working with more and more intelligence, learning more and trying to consolidate the title in the next World Cup”, he highlighted.
Souza, who was named the World Championships Best Female Athleteclosed 2022 in second place in the world and Olympic ranking of its category, which places it in a good position to start the decisive year of qualifying for the Olympic Games.
