Decor in the style of “Adult Dollhouse” by Emma Roberts
Occasionally, Architectural Digest There’s a tour coming up that’s stopping the entire Internet. Perhaps the first example of this phenomenon was their 2020 art gallery tour of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (ahem, I mean house), which left us all scratching our heads in bewilderment. Then came a feature on Dakota Johnson’s mid-century modern home with a cozy green kitchen that I haven’t stopped thinking about since. We recently got a sneak peek inside Emma Chamberlain’s stunning Los Angeles residence, which has become every cool girl’s Roman Empire overnight. But this year ANNOUNCEMENT. The tour that everyone is talking about is Emma Roberts and her so-called “adult dollhouse” tour.
If that sounds creepy, most of the time it’s not (though her “doll wall”—an entire set of shelves dedicated to her vintage doll collection—definitely raised some eyebrows). Rather, Roberts’ home is a masterclass in grand millennial style, full of warm colors, fringed details, floral patterns and vintage finds. Basically, it looks like a real dollhouse if your dolls have incredibly chic style and a laid-back, cool personality.
If you love the look of Emma Roberts’ cozy, vintage-filled home but don’t have the superstar actress’ budget, you’re not alone. Luckily, you can easily achieve a similar look with pieces that won’t cost a fortune. We’ve done the hard work for you and collected everything you need to bring this unusual look, collected over time, into your own home:

As Roberts says, “You can never have enough stripes, fringes or tassels in the house.” This table lamp meets at least two of these criteria and matches the rich, warm tones seen throughout the home.
Coining paper
The actual floral wallpaper in Roberts’ powder room comes from Milan, but this sticker version looks very similar (and has much more affordable shipping).
Wayfair
The Roberts home has several antique pine furniture pieces, including an English pine chest that was repurposed as a dressing table. This piece has a similar feel with its English-style turned legs and rustic wood finish.
Anthropology
Roberts’ whimsical collections of objects are a huge part of her home’s charm. I like to think that this colorful ceramic vase would look good among her collected finds.
The interior defines
A gorgeous honey chenille sofa brightens the family room and sets the tone for the warm color scheme. Roberts’ version was custom upholstered, but Interior Define has a version in a similar shade and fabric.

The huge burl wood coffee table in Roberts’ family room costs several thousand dollars at Restoration Hardware, but if you want a smaller size and a cheaper price—with the same beautiful color and texture—this option from Wayfair is a good option.

Amber Lewis x Loloy
In almost every room there is a sprawling antique rug on the floor, which creates a feeling of coziness and hospitality. For a vintage look without the hefty price tag, we love this option from Loloi that echoes the home’s cozy color palette.

If you’re not ready to give up an all-mustard yellow sofa, grab a couple of these velvet throw pillows to try out the shade in a more affordable way. The shape follows the shape of the Roberts sofa and the fringe details are very consistent with the theme.

Roberts uses a rattan chest to store her son’s toys in their family room, and it’s a genius way to hide the storage in plain sight. Store anything from blankets to books in this similar version from Wayfair.

If you, too, like to have a vision board on hand to inspire you, this circular framed option is similar to the one above Roberts’ desk.

Roberts herself was surprised to find an island in her kitchen that was not custom-made, but purchased from Urban Outfitters. At around $1,000, it’s still a little pricey, but a lot cheaper than a full kitchen renovation.

The moody floral pattern is scattered throughout Roberts’ bedroom, including on the curtains, bed frame and headboard. To get the same feeling but with less commitment, hang floral print curtains and call it a day.
