Destiny: Rising, a mobile game based on the Bungie franchise, has been announced

NetEase Games has announced Destiny: Rising, a mobile game developed in collaboration with Bungie and based on its long-running franchise. Of course, it will be a shooter with RPG elements and the ability to play from first and third person.

The game will feature multiple playable characters and different modes (some PvE, others PvP), as well as a story set “after the Dark Ages” of the Destiny universe. It will be designed for both single-player and primarily multiplayer play, and as NetEase explains, it’s aimed at both Destiny veterans and those looking to get into the franchise for the first time.

We can see a little more of this gameplay in the first trailer:

Bungie’s role in development was limited to “oversight and approval” during development. Everything indicates that this project began to take shape several years ago. In July 2022, several sources indicated a collaboration between Bungie and NetEase and, in addition, some related patents were approved.

If all of this sounds interesting to you, you might also want to know that the game will be compatible with both PlayStation and Xbox controllers at launch, and that a pre-alpha release is scheduled for November 1st. If you would like to register for the pre-alpha, you can do so through this link.
