First, Ramos-Quiroga discussed a study presented by Paloma Valera, head of child psychiatry at Mataro Hospital, that uses “eye tracking” technology to measure eye movements while patients perform neuropsychological tests.

“This device allows us to objectively measure eye movements and, thanks to artificial intelligence, we correlate this data with the presence or absence of ADHD. This approach offers us a much more accurate and objective diagnostic approach that complements the traditional clinical approach. tests,” Ramos-Quiroga said. The device has already been tested on children and is currently being evaluated on adults.

Meanwhile, the second study focuses on a cognitive treatment program based on digital neurogames developed using artificial intelligence that allow patients to perform cognitive exercises tailored to their clinical profile and development. This project was presented by Javier Quintero, head of the psychiatric service at the Infanta Leonor Hospital in Madrid.

“This system personalizes exercises based on each patient’s performance, tailoring them to their clinical needs. The special thing is that these neurogames can be performed at home, allowing for greater flexibility and a much more intensive treatment,” said Dr. Ramos. – Quiroga.

The system allows data from thousands of patients to be processed using AI, which then predicts which exercises are most effective for each person. According to the expert, this allows for “much more personalized” interventions.

The third study is part of the European Timespan project and consists of remote monitoring via a mobile app and device recording the movements and clinical parameters of 300 patients with ADHD for one year. This allows specialists to analyze your adherence to treatment, possible side effects associated with it, and adjust doses if necessary.

The study involves a collaboration between European institutions such as the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona, ​​King’s College London and the Karolinska Institutet, and aims to determine which patient profiles respond best to the drug while minimizing side effects.
