Professor of Medicine Diego Bermudez Flores, director of the Department of Human Physiology, Human Histology, Pathological Anatomy and Sports Exercise Science, received this year’s Excellence in Teaching Award, presented by the Lilly Foundation and the Department of Medical Education at Complutense University. Madrid as part of the Medical Education Awards they announce annually. The peculiarity of the award is that the winner is chosen by the medical students themselves.
The jury awarded the prize for best teaching practice, a proposal from medical students, to the project “Histology”, led by Professor Diego Bermudez from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Malaga, for the innovative methodology used in the class. with resources such as “podcasts,” word games, or social media, student and teacher knowledge acquisition and satisfaction with the tool. Professor Bermudez Flores examines the histological structure of organs from a medical approach, which is the content of the subject.
