DIGITAL KIT | Good news for the self-employed: the government is giving you 1,000 euros for your company.
Government assistance to the self-employed and SMEs is a fundamental support for this type of business, since it can help fill the lack of own resources, which is usually an obstacle to starting an activity or to the growth of existing companies. Moreover, this creates more jobs, which helps stimulate the economy. Of course, they also contribute to the modernization and adaptation of the company to new technologies, which is why the “Digital Kit” was created.
What is a “Digital Kit”?
The Digital Bundle is a government initiative created as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which aims to promote the digitalization of small businesses, microbusinesses and the self-employed.
For this they are provided bonuses up to 12,000 euros companies that meet the requirements so that they can implement digital solutions in the following areas:
- Online presence: website creation and optimization, positioning in search engines, social networking…
- E-commerce: online sales platform, order and payment management, digital marketing…
- Client management: CRM, loyalty program, customer service…
- Electronic billing: issuing and receiving electronic invoices…
- Data management: data analysis tools, business analytics…
- Communications and cooperation: internal communication tools, video conferencing, teamwork…
- Information Security: device and network security, identity and access management…
The Department of Digital Transformation and Public Service wants to highlight the importance of this assistance and self-employed workers are encouraged to apply for it. In addition, emergency benefits for the purchase of other types of computer equipment are gradually being introduced.
1000 euros to buy a computer
The “Digital Bundle” will include a new bonus of €1,000, exclusively for the purchase of computers and other equipment. The ministry responsible for these checks notes that this will also serve to improve the cybersecurity of SMEs: “Modification of the bases will also help improve the cybersecurity of SMEs. updates the catalog of these solutions and creates a new one: “Safe Workplace”, “which includes a hardware device (such as a computer) that must meet a set of security requirements.”
The only negative point is that you will not be able to buy any computer as it will have to meet certain specifications of memory, processor, RAM or operating system. Subsidy will be available from June 1 and the requirements for ordering it are the same as for the digital kit:
- Own a small business, micro business, or be self-employed. Medium-sized companies will also be included in future competitions.
- Comply with financial limits that define categories of companies.
- Be registered with the minimum length of service established at each call
- Not considered a company in crisis
- Stay up to date with tax and social security obligations
- Don’t exceed the limit for small aid amounts
