The Commission for Employment, Economic Development and Demographic Problems of the Provincial Council, chaired by Deputy Roberto Migallon, made the decision this morning. The Provincial Council of Valladolid announces the IV edition of the Ecoempleo 2024 award.

The Provincial Council of Valladolid has announced the “Ecoempleo 2024” award with the aim of encouraging and promoting the study and research of scientific, cultural, economic and demographic issues related to our province.

The purpose of these awards is to recognize and evaluate eco-employment or green employment projects, that is, those that contribute to the conservation and restoration of the environment, both in traditional sectors and in new emerging sectors such as renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The total prizes are €12,000, divided into a first prize of €6,000, a second prize of €4,000 and finally a third prize of €2,000.

Self-employed workers and small businesses (up to 50 people) whose production or work centers are located in municipalities of the province with a population of less than 20,000 people can participate by presenting activities developed in the eco-employment business area in 2024.

Subsidies for associations of businessmen and traders

The Commission approved subsidies for associations of businessmen and traders with a budget of 40,000 euros, which are used to develop advertising and training activities.

On the one hand, new associations created by self-employed workers and companies located in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants, created in 2024 and registered in the register of the Junta of Castile and León, can benefit from this assistance.

Another area of assistance is aimed at associations registered in the register of the Government of Castile and León under the heading of businessmen or traders. Each beneficiary can receive a fixed subsidy of 2,500 euros.

HELP FOR ECONOMIC DYNAMIZATION

Likewise, the Commission approved the call for assistance for the economic revival of the province of Valladolid, encouraging the acquisition of sites of industrial zones and warehouses of the Centers of Business Initiatives and Advanced Services (CIESAS), managed and supported by the Society for the Development of the Province of Valladolid (AVANZA VALLADOLID). The maximum total subsidy amount is EUR 30,000.

The priority goal of this assistance is to promote investment through the creation or expansion of existing companies in industrial zones and CIESAS and, as a result, create jobs.

The provincial council will finance 50% of the cost of acquiring the sites and 30% of the cost of acquiring the warehouses, excluding taxes in both cases.
