Edgar Berlanga ends his relationship with Top Rank

The Puerto Rican boxer Edgar Berlanga He ended his professional relationship with the promotion company Top Rank, according to public ESPN in its digital version.
Berlanga (20-0, 16 KO) made his boxing debut in 2016. He won his first 16 fights by first-round knockout. His subsequent four engagements went the distance. Berlanga was declared the winner in each by decision.
Last June, the New York Athletic Commission determined that Berlanga deserved a six-month suspension for attempting to bite Alexis Angulo during the fight.. The punishment ended last December.
Edgar Berlanga and Top Rank have mutually agreed to part ways after months of talks that failed to resolve key issues, Top Rank and Team Berlanga told ESPN. Both sides have signed the separation agreement. Berlanga, 25, is now a promotional free agent. Story coming to ESPN.

“I am officially a promotional free agent,” Berlanga said in a statement to ESPN. “I want to thank Top Rank, Bob Arum and ESPN for the past few years. I am excited for the future and I will be waiting for my manager to tell me what the next step is. I’ve sold out the Theater at The Garden. I have set myself the goal of filling the big room at MSG and throwing the biggest party in The Garden that Puerto Rican fans have ever seen. I can’t wait for the future”.
The reasons for the separation between Berlanga and Top Rank are not clear. It is speculated that the Premier Boxing Championship (PBC) could go after the Puerto Rican fighter based in New York with a contract offer. Briton Eddie Hearns could also be interested.
The move leaves Xander Zayas as the highest profile Puerto Rican boxer within Top Rank.
