Equipment, Distribution and Calendar | Relief

There are still two months left until the start of the Second Federation, but the starting signal has already been given. The distribution of groups in the fourth category of Spanish football is always one of the greatest incentives before goals are scored.. And it never rains to everyone’s liking. The complex composition of clubs at national level always confuses the territorial clubs, the RFEF and the leading teams, who argue intensely about which solution is the fairest, although sometimes this is impossible.

On this occasion, the participants were divided as follows:

  • 11 Andalusians

  • 9 Catalans

  • 8 people from Madrid

  • 5 Riojans

  • 5 Aragonese

  • 5 Castilian-Leonese languages

  • 5 Balearic Islands

  • 5 Galicians

  • 5 Basques

  • 5 Valencians

  • 4 Extremadurans

  • 4 Cantabrians

  • 4 Asturians

  • 4 Murcians

  • 4 Castilian-Manchegos

  • 3 Navarrese

  • 3 canaries

  • 1 mellense

Still, Various options were considered, which some like and others find incendiary. One of the most discussed on social media was the possibility that Extremadura, Aragon and Castilla y Leon would split the group, a decision they were not too happy about but which could have been inevitable in order to keep everyone else close.

To resolve this confusion, other options have emerged, such as distancing individual teams from their autonomous community due to their proximity to others. Orihuela, Conquense or the recently promoted UDS of Salamanca. This is what they were aiming for. This is what they ended up looking like:

The Second Federation that is approaching us: format, calendar, principles…

The Second Federation will continue to include 90 teams, divided into five groups of 18 clubs each.. The format is as simple as a round robin in the first and second rounds over 34 days. At the end of the season, ten will receive a place in the third category of Spanish football. The leader gets a direct ticket, and the players from second to fifth meet in the playoffs, in which participants from different groups meet. another five places in the First RFEF.

The last five from each group will drop out, with two more spots up for grabs in a playoff between the bottom four thirteenth-place finishers.. A total of 27 demotions.

Once the format without changes and the distribution of groups are known, all that remains is to get to work. The second federation will begin on September 1st next year and will extend its regular season until May 4th.The next four weekends will see playoffs to determine the remaining five teams promoted.
