Escape from Tarkov, Battlestate Games’ ultra-realistic shooter, continues to dominate its own niche of extraction shooters. However, there is one specific element of the game that has always attracted a lot of criticism.
That is movement. Soon, movement in Escape from Tarkov will be greatly improved thanks to the arrival of jumping.

Namely: the simple ability to jump over barriers, short walls, and cardboard boxes, something the game is getting more than six years after it was made available. The feature was first revealed during a recent livestream, and the game’s official Twitter account helpfully clipped it for everyone.

Response to the news has been mostly positive, but some argue that the jump animation does not appear to carry forward movement momentum, making it appear as if the character is starting from scratch when the animation comes to an end.
If you really want to see the number of small details that Tarkov players apparently care about, you’ll have to skim through the many, many responses to the news on Reddit. Many players have valid comments to share there, but there is a feeling that they may be a little excited about the feature.
In fact, I was excited about the arrival of the jump, when I used to be into PUBG. That game also launched without the feature and then got it in an update, although it didn’t take six years to come to fruition. I seem to remember that the response was more mixed, although the PUBG version, to be fair, offered many more avenues to use jumping, and the feature was much more developed (supporting the ability to climb/climb), which could be too far for a game as grounded as Tarkov.
Battlestate didn’t say exactly when the feature will arrive.
