Evo Morales walks away unharmed after gunfire hits his car, injuring driver

Evo Morales (2006-2019), the former president of Bolivia, reported this Sunday that the vehicle that was taking him to the station where he usually hosted his weekend program was shot 14 times by unknown parties, killing The politician’s driver was injured.

The former president told Koka radio station Kawsachun Koka that two other men followed the vehicle in which the attackers were traveling, which happened at 6:25 a.m. local time (10:25 GMT) on the route between the town of Vila. Tunari and Lauca Ñ, in the tropical zone of Cochabamba.

In a video circulated on social networks, blood can be seen on the driver’s head while holding the steering wheel.

The voice of a woman traveling in the vehicle can also be heard telling Morales to get down: “Go Papacho, fly away. They’re here (…) Crouch, crouch press,” is heard in the recording. Evo Morales then called for help on the phone: “They are shooting at us, mobilize quickly.”
