Fashion news you may have missed this week
It may be the shortest month of the year, but February is already shaping up to be the most exciting time on the fashion calendar.
From capsule collections to must-see runways, these are the fashion moments we’ve been paying attention to this month.
The Iconic Introduces the Exclusive First Nations Collection
Online retail giant The Iconic has unveiled its exclusive First Nations collection, featuring the work of three growing brands: Pink Fish, Myrrdah and Jarawee.
The collaboration builds on the Iconic x First Nations Fashion + Design (FNFD) incubator program, which was developed as part of the retailer’s commitment to developing Indigenous talent in the fashion industry. Over the course of the nine-month course, which launched in April 2023, designers were immersed in a comprehensive curriculum designed to support the commercialization of their brands.
Selected designs from Myrrdah, Pink Fish and Jarawee are now available to purchase from The Iconic.
Louis Vuitton announces Saoirse Ronan as its new ambassador
Actress Saoirse Ronan, a four-time Oscar nominee, has become the latest celebrity to join Louis Vuitton’s impressive list of ambassadors.
It’s a fitting appointment for the 29-year-old, whose growing relationship with the house has seen her wear Louis Vuitton on numerous occasions, including, most recently, at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of her latest film. Outran.
“I have admired Saoirse’s career for many years and find her absolutely captivating in the roles she plays. And what’s more, behind her talent lies such a charming and bright personality,” creative director Nicolas Ghesquière commented on the announcement.
Ronan joins fellow esteemed celebrities Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett, Sophie Turner, Chloë Grace Moretz, Zendaya and Heo Young Jung as a House Ambassador.
Jacquemus staged the Les Sculptures show in the south of France
Paris Fashion Week is officially over, and the fashion world is just a stone’s throw away from Saint-Paul-de-Vence, where Jacquemus presented his spring 2024 show, “Les Sculptures.”
The brand’s signature bombshell-meets-avant-garde aesthetic was given a distinctly modern makeover, with sculptural outerwear, oversized tailoring and boxy accessories abounding on the runway.
As usual, A-listers were in abundance: Gigi Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski walked the runway, while Julia Roberts, Jack Harlow and Kylie Jenner looked on from the front row.
BOSS presents the spring-summer 2024 campaign
Boss has tapped world-famous A-listers to star in their Spring/Summer 2024 campaign, ‘The Choice Is Yours’.
In the series of images, celebrities Suki Waterhouse, Gisele Bündchen, Adwoa Aboah, Lee Minho and Matteo Berrettini show off a collection of fashion essentials in a sophisticated color palette of muted neutrals.
The campaign also showcases impressive innovation: Boss became the first fashion brand to use large-scale holographic technology to present part of a collection. The future has never been so bright.
