Federico Viñas, the new player of Real Oviedo | Real Oviedo

Real Oviedo and Club Leon have reached an agreement on the transfer of footballer Federico Viñas for this season.

Federico Sebastián Viñas Barbosa, 26, was born on June 30, 1998 in Montevideo. Trained at Club Atlético Juventud de Las Piedras, where he made his debut in the first team at the age of 19, the striker soon made the leap to Mexican football, signing for Club América.

Defending the colors of the Mexico team, the Uruguayan played 121 games, scoring 24 goals, between the 2019/20 and 2022/23 seasons. His excellent performances at Club America prompted Club Leon to take notice of him and use his services.

Under La Fiera, Federico Viñas continued to show his prolific goalscoring ability, scoring 16 goals last season for the Guanajuato side.

As part of the Uruguayan national team, the forward, a regular in the Uruguayan youth categories, was selected to prepare for the XIII South American Tournament. Moreover, Federico Viñas already knows what it is like to debut for the senior team, after he defended the blue colors of the “Bombonera” against Argentina.
