Santo Domingo, DR.
Félix Peguero, general manager of the Estrellas Orientales, will not continue in the position. His contract expired and from then on he will take a sabbatical in Dominican baseball.
Peguero himself offered the information to Listin Diario, noting that he will take a break because “my family and my work with the San Francisco Giants demand it from me.”
The information on Peguero’s retirement was also confirmed by the director of communications for the Stars, Luis Manuel Aguiló. “With the conclusion of his agreement, he spoke with the president about taking a sabbatical. This, by virtue of new functions that were added to it by the Major League team (San Francisco Giants) ”, he said.
Peguero spent two years as manager and 4 in the team. Previously, he had been an assistant and head of baseball operations with former manager Manny Acta.
On the other hand, Mr. José Mallén, senior executive of the team and the board, told Listin that “in reality, the contract expired and will not be renewed.”
The Stars lost the final to the Tigres del Licey in 5 games. They also lost last year’s final to the Gigantes del Cibao.
