There’s a moment in ‘A Good Person’ where the character played by Florence Pugh gets a haircut, and it was 100% real!

The 27-year-old actress opened up about the pivotal moment in her new movie, which is currently in theaters.

The moment occurs after Allison is in a bathroom and in immense sadness, she takes a pair of scissors to cut her long hair, getting shorter and shorter, until she reaches a pixie style.

“I thought we were going to get a custom made wig”shared Robert Lugo, head of the film’s hair department, with PopSugar about the scene, admitting that the actual haircut wasn’t plan A.

Florence then told usa today that the scene came from a place of authenticity: “For me, whenever I was particularly bad in my teens, I would do a lot of quick fixes. I would buy things like nail kits or scissors and go on YouTube to find out how to do it.”

“I was just looking in any direction except what was making me sad”he added.

Robert added that Florence had practice with a few wigs before taking the scissors to her real mane.

says that she “I wasn’t nervous… It was supposed to be a f*ck up haircut so I thought the messier the better.”

‘A Good Person,’ directed by Zach Braff, centers on Allison, whose world falls apart in the blink of an eye when she survives an unimaginable tragedy, emerging from her recovery with opioid addiction and unresolved sadness.
