‘Flowers’ Miley Cyrus: Which parts of the song are dedicated to Liam Hemsworth?

Miley Cyrus is back with her new single ‘Flowers’.
On the anticipated track, Cyrus expresses overcoming a failed relationship, singing: “I can love me better than you can” (I can love myself better than you).
While Cyrus hasn’t confirmed who the song is about, fans strongly believe the lyrics reference her relationship with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.
Cyrus, who had been in a relationship with Hemsworth on and off for more than 10 years, released the single on his birthday.
Fans are convinced the song is directed at Hemsworth, with one commenting, “Wow, @Miley Cyrus You do hate Liam Hemsworth, huh? #Flowers”.
In the new song, which celebrates self-love, Cyrus sings: “We were good, we were gold / Kind of dream that can’t be sold / We were right ’til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn” (We were everything, we were gold / A dream that can’t be bought / Everything was going well until it started to go wrong / We built a house and watched it burn).
Before the chorus, the lyrics say:“Mmm, I didn’t wanna leave you, I didn’t wanna lie / Started to cry, but then remembered I” (I didn’t want to leave you, I didn’t want to lie / I started to cry, but then I remembered that).
Then she sings defiantly: “I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don’t understand / I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can (I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you wouldn’t understand / I can ask myself to dance / And I can hold my own hand / Yes, I can love myself better than you).
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIAM HEMSWORTH,” one fan joked, sharing lyrics to the song and photos of the couple together.
“Happy 33rd birthday to Liam Hemsworth,” another fan tweeted with a link to the single.
Others online speculated that Cyrus’ song is inspired by Bruno Mars’ lyrics from his 2012 single ‘When I Was Your Man’, in which he sings “I should have bought you flowers”.
Hemsworth reportedly dedicated the song to Cyrus while they were still together.
“Miley Cyrus hit back at Bruno Mars on his recent single ‘Flowers,’ WHAT A MIND,” the fan wrote.
Later in the song, the lyrics are more direct: “Paint my nails cherry-red / Match the roses that you left / No remorse, no regret / I forget every word you said” (Painting my nails red / Matches those roses of yours / No remorse, no regret / I forgot every word you said.)
