Freya Ridings secretly married her boyfriend in November.
The 28-year-old music star revealed that she married folk singer Ewan J. Phillips in an intimate ceremony in London.
Ridings, whose new album ‘Blood Orange’ will be released in May commented:
‘We got married in November. It is absolutely wild. The album was moved to be released this year and this time it was opened. We planned and did a wedding in two and a half months. It was so magical.’
Freya also revealed that her new album was actually inspired by the turbulence of her love life.
The singer, who released her debut album in 2019, told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column:
‘I went through a really tough breakup in January 2020. I had come all the way. Then I came home quietly and the heartbreak really hit me. The album has two halves, that’s why it’s called -Blood Orange-. There is the bitter and the sweet. It’s 18 months where I’m heartbroken and alone, and then the other half is about us getting back together and falling in love again.
The singer took over a metro station in Prague, in the Czech Republic, for her new music video.
Ridings admitted to stepping out of her comfort zone to shoot the ‘Weekends’ video.
‘We shot the video in Prague as a night shoot. One part was in an open top bus playing the piano. Then we take a subway station from 12 to 4 am I feel like I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone’.
Meanwhile, Freya previously admitted that Ed Sheeran inspired her.
The music star confessed to being amazed by what Sheeran has achieved during his career.
“I am so in awe of Ed Sheeran and his incredible cast of songs, and how he continues to build on his legacy.”
