The Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Army, Herzi Halevi, said this Monday during a visit to the north of the country that their mission against the Shiite group Hezbollah “is not over yet” after yesterday’s massive attack with more than 100 people killed by a plane from Lebanon. “Hezbollah has other capabilities,” Halevi said in a visit to the Northern Command with his American counterpart, General Charles Q. Brown, who is visiting Israel to discuss the possibility of Iranian retaliation, and with Defense Minister Israeli Yoav Weir. “We are strengthening our cooperation in response to challenges and threats in the Middle East,” Halevi said of the American’s visit, arguing that, “Israel defends itself, but it is always good to have a strong ally at your side.” Galant, for his part, assured that “Iran’s aggression has reached a historic peak” that will require joint action with the United States. The Chief of General Staff stressed that the armed forces will continue to eliminate the commanders of the pro-Iranian militias, as well as their means and capabilities, with the aim of guaranteeing the return of people evacuated from the north of the country to their communities.
