GeForce RTX 5090 500W Power Consumption? (RTX 5080

Seasonic has updated its energy consumption calculator data on its website GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and other series. This calculator helps users choose a power supply based on the consumption generated by the CPU and GPU. Seasonic does not show the consumption of each GPU directly. Shows the final amount. But, of course, you can take an already released graphics processor as a standard and compare the difference in consumption compared to the model that replaced it.

Without any surprises, all GeForce RTX 50 series will use a 16-pin power connector. Something that makes perfect sense. Namely, the most modern and safe version, known as 12V-2×6. Moreover, it is indicated that all AMD Ryzen 8000 will also use this connector. Moreover, a few days ago, ASRock released the first Radeon RX 7900 16-pin.

This is the expected power consumption of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080.

Using the calculator, we know that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 sees its consumption as marked TDP 500W. That’s 50 watts more than the company’s current top-end GPU, the GeForce RTX 4090. Its little sister, the GeForce RTX 5080, could TDP 350W According to Seasonic, this implies a 30W increase in power compared to the GeForce RTX 4080.

The GeForce RTX 5090 will reportedly be manufactured by TSMC using N4P (4nm) lithography. Its NVIDIA GB202 GPU will offer a configuration up to 24,576 CUDA cores which will reach the base frequency 2.90 GHzAt the memory level, I would like to suggest 28GB GDDR7 memory at 28 Gbps. Combined with a 448-bit interface, it will reach bandwidth 1568 GB/swhich is a big jump from the 1008 GB/s of the GeForce RTX 4090.

1We know much less about the GeForce RTX 5080. Rumor has it that it will offer GDDR7 16GB Memory limited by a 256-bit memory interface. At the performance level, it is expected to be around 12% slower than GeForce RTX 4090Now, according to Seasonic, it will consume
130 watts less relative to this top-end GPU.

The GeForce RTX 5070, RTX 5060, and RTX 5050 will also appear.

Walking quickly, GeForce RTX 5070 indicated on the calculator with TDP 220W20W more than the RTX 4070 and almost half as much as the RTX 5090 itself. RTX 5060 there is a significant jump in consumption with TDP 170W, which is 55W more than the RTX 4060. So we ended up with RTX 5050 which remains with the same TDP as its predecessor 100 W.

There is almost nothing known about these charts. There have been many rumors, but They will not arrive until early 2025. at best. That is, a very late date to give credibility to this data. Now both the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will appear. at the end of this year. It will be weeks or months at the latest before assemblers start producing their GPUs. Once that happens, we will have leaks revealing the final specs of both models. And hopefully, what we can actually expect from them when it comes to to your performance.
