Girona and City have found a formula for obtaining UEFA approval
Requirements UEFA forces Citystill the largest shareholder with 47% Girona, get rid of at least 17% and save 30%.
The path chosen to rethink the ownership of Girona is the trust, a formula by which it transfers, rather than sells, part of its assets to another individual with the task of keeping them and transferring them to a third party, who in this case may be a business entity.
The move will see Girona get the green light from UEFA ahead of an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting in early July, at which it will all be organized with the departure of City’s directors and the arrival of new ones.
From now on, Girona already knows that she will have to remote business from the city and stop working side by side throughout the day, holding work meetings, video conferencing, or exchanging information, among other things. Be that as it may, Girona’s participation in the Champions League is not in danger.
