Rockstar Games asked employees to return to the office

The studio has already begun the final stage of development, which will last more than a year. As reported by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, the developer sent an email to its employees asking them to return to the office. According to Jenn Kolbe, director publishingthis decision was made because the company believed it would benefit development: “Making these changes will allow us to better deliver the next Grand Theft Auto with the level of quality and polish we know you need, which is in line with a publishing plan that matches the scale and ambition of the game,” he said. In response, some employees began collecting signatures online with the IWGB Game Workers union.

The signatories emphasized that remote work was a “big change” that allowed employees to be more productive. They stressed that the time saved gave them the opportunity to have fun “with their friends and families” and make peace, which is necessary “for people’s mental health and well-being.”

GTA 6 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. They haven’t announced a PC version at this time, but historically it has always arrived some time after the console version.
