Guerrilla Games explains why LEGO Horizon Adventures is coming to Nintendo Switch

LEGO Horizon Adventures will be released on PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch: Guerrilla Games explains why they decided to release this version for the Nintendo console.

nintendo switch This Summer Game Fest was completely empty in anticipation of next week’s Nintendo Direct. But one of the most surprising games coming to Switch this year is LEGO Horizon Adventure.

No one expected Horizon, one of Sony PlayStation’s most important franchises at the moment and only featured on PS5, PS4 and PC, to make the jump to Nintendo Switch (rather than Xbox).

But LEGO Horizon Adventures goes on sale this Christmas on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. This is a spin-off that tells the story of the first Horizon Zero Dawn in LEGO format, for all audiences and with co-op multiplayer mode.

The reason LEGO Horizon Adventures is coming to Nintendo Switch

Previews of LEGO Horizon have already appeared in international media, and everyone wants to know the same thing: why is it coming to Switch?

James WindelerGuerrilla Games’ narrative director explains to Eurogamer why they decided to bring the game to Switch:

The Switch is perfect for this. The control scheme is simple, it’s designed to be played on a single Nintendo Joy-Con and of course they have a very family friendly audience so it fits in very well.“.

Windeler explains that the game is intended to make Horizon more accessible to all types of audiences, so some of the more pressing themes have been cut, such as the apocalypse or existentialism, but no one else likes his environmental message.

The Switch will absolutely help us reach that younger audience and we’re really excited about that, but the game itself will also appeal to Horizon fans who are expecting a bit of tactical combat – all of that will be there too.

In Engadget, Windeler mentions that “their collaboration with Switch is a unique opportunity to help them reach family audiences.

And Nintendo Life confirms that the Switch version LEGO Horizon Adventure developed internally between Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobohas not been handed over to any external porting studio, which should help ensure quality.

While it doesn’t reach the visual fidelity of the PS5 or PC, the Switch version will have the same content, although we haven’t seen it in action yet. Maybe Nintendo will show this in the next Direct?
