he will miss three games and will not be able to play against Atlético de Madrid

The Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) ratified this Wednesday the suspension of three games to Robert Lewandowski imposed by the Competition Committee of the Spanish Football Federation after his expulsion on November 8 in the match between Osasuna and Barcelona.

The Pole was severely punished and will not be able to be in next Sunday’s match against Athletic in the Wanda Metropolitano, he will also miss the league games against Getafe Y Girona. Lewandowski will return until February 1st to visit the Real Betis.

In a few days, Barcelona will play the Super Cup against Betis, but in that tournament it does not affect. The Pole will be able to be without problems.

Lewandowski was sent off in the duel against Osasuna for a double yellow, but on the way to the locker room, he put his finger to his nose, a fact that was reflected in the minutes by the match official, Jesús Gil Manzano, where it was noted that the act was a belittlement to the referee and he was imposed two more matches of additional punishment.

Barcelona unsuccessfully appealed to the Appeals Committee alleging that Lewandowski’s gesture was not directed at Gil Manzano and also did so in third instance before the TAD.

“The Supreme Court of Sport did not go into the merits of the matter until today, but it did deny the precautionary suspension of the sanction. Barcelona, faced with this circumstance, took the case to the central administrative court number 2 of Madrid, which in an order suspended the total execution of the punishment due to the possibility of irreparable damage in the case of a resolution favorable to Barça in the TAD”, according to Diario As.

This allowed the Pole, Robert Lewandowski, to play against Espanyol last Saturday, who requested the request to challenge the match by the ‘Pericos’ against the Spanish Federation, considering that Barça incurred in improper alignment and it is unknown if the team culé will lose points at the table.

Finally, Lewan will have to comply with the punishment unless Barça also decides to appeal the TAD’s resolution on the merits of the matter before the ordinary courts.
