The Department of Health has concluded the first phase of the Cuídat-e initiative with the selection of the company that will be in charge of developing, from artificial intelligence and big data, a mobile application for personalized medicine. The app will offer users recommendations and advice on health adjusted to their singularities, with the ultimate goal of preventing diseases.
The development of the project is divided into two phases. In the first, started in April by the three winners of the contest, the feasibility of the initiative and GMV Soluciones Globales Internet SAU has been selected as the company that will undertake the second stage. In this new phase, GMV Soluciones Globales Internet SAU will have the second ranked company (Laberit-Qwerty) as a subcontractor.
During the first phase of Cuídat-e, a total of 4,000 volunteers provided information about their nutritional habitsphysical activity, mood, substance use-new addictions and situations of unwanted loneliness.
In this new stage, which will begin in the coming weeks, the participating people will receive a communication with a link to access and test the preliminary mobile APP, to which new functionalities will be added. New participants may also be incorporated by signing an online informed consent. Through the app, the information and evaluation of the experiences of the participants will be collected to deepen and perfect the computer tool for health promotion.
In addition to this main objective, the Big Data Personalized Medicine project also takes advantage of the opportunities of high-resolution vision and artificial intelligence to create solutions that compete at an advantage in repetitive tasks that can be parameterized and solved by algorithms.
In this line, With the help of a bot, we will work on data collection before entering the consultation of the healthcare professional, during continuous home monitoring of chronic pathologies, as well as in emergency prioritization screening.
It is also planned to develop a system of automated transcription, using an intelligent dictaphone, of the conversations that the patient and professional have in the consultation office. Ultimately, the professional will need to validate and polish the automated transcription to ensure it is correct and accurate.
finally, too simple imaging diagnosis of radiology or electrocardiography using high-resolution pixelation.
All these functionalities, according to Health, avoid repetitive tasks and data collection for professionals, that they will be able to focus on activities with greater added value and personalize the time dedicated to each patient.
Along with these patient-centric interface solutions, the Cuídat-e project will also develop others aimed at professionals, to increase its diagnostic capacity in individual care and in population health planning.
Almost six million investment
The Cuídat-e project is the result of the collaboration of the participating volunteers, a large number of professionals from the Ministry of Universal Health and Public Health and the Canary Islands Health Service, as well as technologists from the winning companies.
LThe initiative has a budget of 5,833,774 euros, of which the Generalitat Valenciana allocates 2,000,000, 50% co-financed by Feder, and the Canary Islands assumes 3,833,774, 85% co-financed by Feder. within the framework of the FID Salud Program (Financing of Innovation from Demand), which is managed as a national authority by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
