Helldivers 2 exceeded 400 thousand concurrent players on Steam over the weekend

Over the weekend, Helldivers 2 set a new record for the most concurrent players on Steam.

Arrowhead Studios’ multiplayer PvE shooter reached 409,367 concurrent players on Steam in its second weekend on sale (information from SteamDB).

This metric places it in the top 25 Steam games by this metric, surpassing the maximum concurrent player count of Grand Theft Auto V or Destiny 2.

At the time of its premiere, it was already the best launch of a PlayStation Studios game on Steam, being the first simultaneous launch.

However, server problems continued to pile up over the weekend as the developer tries to scale the online infrastructure to a capacity that was not originally planned.

Arrowhead posted a new one maximum 450,000 concurrent playersbut even then, problems with accessing the game during peak hours continue to persist.
