Hello Games announces that No Man’s Sky is once again free to play on all platforms due to player demand

Last weekend’s free trial was very well received, and the studio has decided to repeat it.

Last week, Hello Games surprised us with the Omega update for No Man’s Sky, which brought with it a ton of content, improvements, fixes, and a little surprise: free access for all platforms over the weekend of February 16-18.

So, Sean Murray, head of Hello Games, announced on Twitter that the free trial will run until this weekend: “Due to unexpected demand, No Man’s Sky It will be free again this weekend.” This temporary free access allows any player to try out the twelfth expedition of the video game, which arrived as part of the Omega update.

The Omega Update offers everyone the opportunity to embark on a new joint interstellar expedition completely free of charge, regardless of whether they already have No Man’s Sky as if not,” reads the official update notes. Finally, Sean Murray reminds us that the game has no microtransactions or free-to-play mechanics. Once you purchase the game, everything becomes free.

The No Man’s Sky website hasn’t updated the dates for this free trial (at least not yet), but Sean Murray’s confirmation is absolutely official. You can download a free trial from the console store and/or website for PS4, PS5, Steam (PC/Mac), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Also, as a reminder, it’s included in Game Pass. And yes, it has a physical version and VR support.
