His statement upset many, and this is understandable, but one should not condemn him prematurely. We played LEGO Horizon and you can see the passion for the original – LEGO Horizon Adventures.
When talking about video games, everyone tends to speak from their own point of view, not realizing that not all proposals are tailored to them. This is the reflection I got after the game LEGO Horizon Adventurefamily game adapting the famous game of the same name from Guerrilla games and one of the mainstays of the PlayStation ecosystem. Thus, during Summer Gaming Festival celebrationI had access to a playable demo that lasts about half an hour.
This time it was Guerrilla itself in collaboration with Gobo Studio who took over the management of the project instead of TT Games, creators of LEGO Batman, Harry Potter or the most recent LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This means a different name within the brand, but with many interesting points to comment on.
Aloy moves into the LEGO world
At first glance it does not seem that Horizon: Zero Dawn would be the most suitable story for LEGO due to its emotional and dramatic content, but with little humor, its universe is easy to adapt and focus on a younger audience. Thus, in this title we find a story that many already know, but simplified for the little ones.
We’re talking about a family game, created, in Guerrilla’s own words, “so that the youngest can learn the story of Horizon Zero Dawn” and also for followers of Aloy’s adventures who just want to have fun. In fact, the essence is conveyed perfectly and we even see that it is the same in the English version. voice of Aloy, Ashly Burchwhich repeats the experience.
The main role is gameplay. LEGO Horizon Adventures introduces a world where everything can be destroyedas I was able to experience. The novelty of the isometric perspective camera makes the levels seem simple to look at, but with plenty of secrets to discover. There are many external LEGO licenses added to the game, so they are easy to find and collectibles O. This happens with the help of a simple platform on which we can climb rocks, jump or slide down a rope.
There is no complexity, at least in what I saw, but there is sympathy
I was able to experience two different moments of the game: one corresponding to the beginning, in which the basic controls are learned, and another, more advanced one, which I played in a group throughout local co-op. Of course, gaining control is straightforward: Aloy attacks with a bow from a distance, being able to control the direction of the shot and uses such damaging objects as an exploding hot dog stand or launching a shark. If by chance the shot goes through a fire or something similar, the arrow will turn into a burning projectile. In the same way there is stealth mechanics This is more than necessary due to the difficulty, it is very interesting to watch because Aloy hides in the grass quite comically.
Throughout the demonstration, various clashes occurred with bosses, the impressions are much better in the company. After all, this is a game designed to bring little ones together with older ones. In these moments of combat, it’s best to be able to combine skills, deal with smaller enemies, etc. Despite all this, and despite the fact that it is easy to play, the truth is that the game is enjoyable, and thanks in large part to all those animations that happen during moments of action and make you smile. There is no complexity, at least not from what I have seen, but there is empathy.
Everything you can do in Lego Horizon
Likewise, I was able to verify that we are dealing with a game that has decided to reduce the number of options we have outside of combat compared to previous LEGO games. I mean skill system, which is still a simple version of a regular tree. These skills are purchased using in-game currency, lego pieces and whatever else you have.
Now, what is there is a customization system, thanks to which the character can transform into different appearances, both from Horizon Zero Dawn and external ones, as if you wanted! Dress Aloy as a bee! But in addition to this, there are also some fun details, such as the fact that you can take a random NPC, place him in a cabinet that gives us access to customization, and lock him up so that he appears in a new appearance. .
Minimalism in the progression system is compensated by the presence camp which promises to grow, judging by the preview, more than I could see. But I’ve been able to see that customization extends to the type of cabin we can build. I chose one with a roller coaster on the roof. And in this sense, the humor follows the line demonstrated in other parts.
Now it’s true that graphically I noticed that some texture areas needed improvement and also found some bugs such as character traversal. At first glance, it seems to me that it does not reach the level that we saw again in The Skywalker Saga, where, for example, the light effectively falls on objects, although it is true that small details were added there. for example, your footprints remain in the snow. Overall, it is expected that LEGO Horizon Adventures December this yearso we will have to see if there is any improvement in this regard.
There’s not much else to say about this little preview, but after playing the game it feels like a lovingly crafted game that, while lacking some of the detail found in other installments, continues to live up to what we might expect. What it lacks in difficulty for adults, it makes up for in humor that is accessible to everyone, and co-op is great for playing with the whole family. So I come back to the idea that not all games are aimed at the same audience, but that doesn’t mean they detract from the message.
In 3D games | We’ve already seen 1 hour of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and it’s hard for this fantasy RPG to live up to BioWare’s massive legacy.
In 3D games | I watched about 45 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and found Ubisoft’s new open world in Japan to be even bigger than you’d expect.
In 3D games | It’s an action/fantasy RPG with guns, it has elements of Souls and even Bloodborne, and now you can try it for free. This is Flintlock: Siege of Dawn
