H&M closes and says goodbye to the famous shopping center in Zaragoza

The Swedish multinational H&M lowered the shutters this Saturday at one of its most iconic stores in Zaragoza, a decision that took by surprise those who took advantage of the early morning to go shopping.

It’s about the store Grancasa shopping center, where he has been present for many years. The establishment completed its final hours this Friday and appears closed today with a message addressed to customers saying: “We have closed this store for good. See you in our nearest stores, on our “app” and on hm.com.”

Inside, employees continued to empty shelves – an image that could also be seen a few weeks ago at Zara, which also closed its store. In this case, to centralize your offer in a future store Paseo de la Independencia, which could open the next Pilar festival.

The Swedish firm formalizes the closure in the Employment Rules File (ERE) at the national level. which will mean the closure of 28 businesses and will affect about 600 of its 4,000 employees. The reason is the need to “refine and adapt stores to the changing needs and expectations of customers.”

They worked at the Grancasa store about thirty people. Despite the drastic decision, which will significantly reduce the brand’s presence in Zaragoza, the Puerto Venice location is expected to remain open.

The closure of H&M leaves the heart of the ground floor of this large store virtually orphaned, although its managers are already working on attract new brands and renew its commercial commitments.
