Holguín Cubs manager Héctor Hernández resigned – SwingCompleto

The most important manager in the history of the Holguín Cubs, Héctor Hernández, resigned as head of the team and just over two months after the start of the 62 National Series of Cuban baseball, the team has not yet made its pre-selection official, nor has it named substitute director.

As reported by Calixto González, a new driver for Holguín will be announced in the coming days, after (I quote) “Héctor Hernández declined to continue as manager.”

As already announced, the 2023 season in Cuba will begin on March 25, in version 62 of the National Series.

The shortlist for the Holguin players will be 42 players, with 18 pitchers among them, while Calixto Gonzáles assures that veterans Yéison Pacheco and Luis Ángel Gómez will not return with the team either.

Returning to Héctor Hernández, he comes from being in sixth and last place in the 1st Elite League of Cuban Baseball, with a balance of 19 wins and 29 losses in front of Cafetaleros, but he will always be remembered as the manager who gave away the first title ( and only one to date) of the Holguín Cubs in National Series (2002)
