Madrid, June 16 (Europa Press) –

The Houthi militia reported a new attack this Sunday against ships in the Red Sea, specifically against a US Navy destroyer, an attack that has not yet been confirmed.

“The missile forces and naval forces of the Yemeni armed forces have carried out two military operations in the Red Sea. The first was an attack with several ballistic missiles against a US destroyer,” Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sari said in a statement published on Telegram.

The second target would be the ship ‘Captain Paris’, which was attacked with “several suitable naval missiles” for “the failure of its owner company to comply with the prohibition of access to the ports of occupied Palestine”.

In the third operation, several Houthi drones attacked the ‘Happy Condor’ ship in the Arabian Sea. “The company that owns it has violated the ban on entering the ports of occupied Palestine,” Sari said.

“Thanks to Allah all three operations have successfully achieved their objectives,” a Houthi military spokesman said, warning that they would continue to attack and respond to “American-British aggression” and show solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The Houthis, who control the most populated areas of Yemen, have launched attacks against Israeli territory and ships they describe as having some sort of connection to the country as a result of the offensive they launched against Gaza following attacks on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Likewise, they have attacked American and British ships and other strategic assets in response to these countries’ bombings against Yemen, which Washington and London base their desire to guarantee the safety of navigation in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.
