Houthis plan to attack Tel Aviv
SANAA (EFE) – Yahya Sarea, military spokesman for the Shiite Houthi rebels, assured that his group had carried out an operation targeting Tel Aviv, although he hinted that he would give more details about the attack.
“The specific operation, the details of which will be revealed, will be aimed at ‘Tel Aviv’ in occupied Palestine,” Sariya said in a brief message published on his official account on the social network about the “qualitative military operation” he implemented.
Attack by Houthis
At least one person was killed and seven others were injured after an explosion was reported in Tel Aviv next to the United States embassy in the early hours of Friday, official sources said, who are investigating whether it was a drone attack.
The rebels’ adventure
If confirmed, it would be the most far-reaching action the Houthis have taken since they began attacking Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea and Eilat (southern Israel) last November 19.
In recent months, the Houthis have claimed responsibility for attacks against the port of Haifa and the Mediterranean Sea, including some launched with the unification of the pro-Iran militia Islamic Resistance in Iraq.
Consulted by EFE, the Israeli military did not confirm that it was a drone.
The site of the incident is located just meters from the United States embassy, Israel’s main ally and arms distributor.
