Vaccination coverage against seasonal influenza in Castile and León reached 35.4 percent of people aged 60 years and over in the first month of the campaign, in which 379,290 vaccines were administered to all age groups, representing 53.2 percent of the total number vaccinated (713 480).
According to the General Directorate of Public Health, by province, as of November 4, 26,121 people had been vaccinated in Avila; 51,465 in Burgos; 65,588 in Leon; 26,255 in Palencia; 55,458 in Salamanca; 22,342 people in Segovia; 15,191 people in Soria; 81,698 in Valladolid and ; 33,088 in Zamora, of which 1,084 are in the “not specified” section.
Depending on the reason for vaccination, the most important groups are those at risk due to age: 287,570 vaccines, followed by 26,325 doses administered to people in hospitals, 17,830 to risk groups due to pathologies or 16,139 to workers in health centers and social workers. – sanitary workers.

Regarding vaccination against COVID-19, the official report of the Ministry of Health indicates that in the first month of the campaign, 246,435 people have already received their dose, representing 27.4 percent coverage of people over 60 years of age and 67.9 percent of doses administered. exceeds the total amount received (362,922 as of the reference date). RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS (RSV)

Immunization is provided by administering a single dose of nirsevimab during the 2024-2025 campaign to all children born between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025.
Depending on the date of birth, administration will take place in a hospital or health center, and those born on or after October 1 will receive the monoclonal antibodies in the hospital at birth. For those born between April and September, a special campaign will be held at the beginning of the RSV season, in October, with the dose administered at a health center or regular vaccination center.
The Directorate General of Public Health stressed that infants born between April and September have time to receive nirsevimab and reiterated that “the sooner they are vaccinated the better” and remembers that those born from October onwards who would not have received the antibody vaccine in the maternity hospital may receive it later and recommends “minimizing the delay as much as possible.”
