Ireland’s Saoirse Ronan, Barry Keoghan and Paul Mescal dreamed of playing Bond!

Saoirse Ronan has emerged as the 6/1 favorite with BoyleSports to play the next Bond girl, with the announcement of a new 007 also believed to be imminent.

Four-time Oscar nominee Ronan has been capturing the imagination of Hollywood since 2007, and audiences have been eagerly awaiting the star to join the blockbuster franchise. Joining Ronan at the head of the market is Marisa Abela, who plays Amy Winehouse in the biopic. Back to blackdue out this year, with Jodie Comer and Michelle Keegan also rumored to be under consideration by Bond bosses.

Comer, who has a 7/1 chance of landing the coveted role, is no stranger to playing a spy on screen, having played the lead role of assassin Villanelle in the hit BBC series. Killing Eve and she die-hard Bond fans think she would be perfect for the role.

The prospect of Michelle Keegan being traded by Netlfix to MI6 has also been growing in recent weeks after she came into the limelight thanks to the Netflix series. Fool me once. After spending six years in the role Corrie barmaid Tina McIntyre in The Rovers Return, Keegan now has a 7/1/10/1 chance of joining James Bond on the other side of the bar, while Margot Robbie is a look-alike and Sex education star Emma McKee is 8/1.

With James Bond himself also in the running, Paul Mescal (6/1) and Barry Keoghan (25/1) remain on the list to don the famous tuxedo as rumors swirl that a younger or older Bond could appear in the next installment of the series for the first time on screen. Players, however, are still backing long-time 9/4 favorite Aaron Taylor-Johnson, with a steady stream of support high-speed train star since he reportedly met with the Bond production team late last year.

Brian O’Keefe, a spokesman for BoyleSports, said: “Even though there is no fixed announcement date for Bond 26, that hasn’t stopped Bond players and fans from speculating about which duo will join the next MI6 roster. “In recent days we have seen a lot of support from Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal for the Irish takeover of the blockbuster franchise.”
