Israeli army members disguised as doctors and patients attack a hospital in the West Bank

Israeli forces on Tuesday sent medical personnel and a commando disguised as civilians into a hospital in Jenin in the occupied West Bank to kill three men they identified as “terrorists”, one of whom had ties to Hamas. . At least three Palestinians were reportedly killed.

In a surveillance video published on social networks by Palestinian authorities, a dozen men and women armed with combat weapons and disguised as medical personnel or civilians enter a care unit and point their weapons at those present. Some masked members of the commando had brought a folded wheelchair or child seat.

This is the first time since 2015 that Israeli forces have launched this type of operation at a hospital in the West BankWhere tensions have increased in the backdrop of the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic movement in Gaza.

An AFP journalist saw the bodies of three people, their families mourning, inside Avicenna hospital in Jenin, a stronghold of Palestinian armed groups. A stretcher, on which a pillow pierced by a bullet was stained with blood, left little doubt as to the nature of the operation.

Further, there were traces of blood on a mattress, some of which was scattered on the floor and walls.

In a joint statement, the Israeli military, internal security and police said that together they had “neutralized” Hamas terrorist Mohammed Jalamnah, as well as “two other terrorists,” Bassel and Ayman Ghazawi.

Hamas confirmed Jalamna’s affiliation. And Islamic Jihad, another Palestinian Islamic movement, claimed the affiliation of the two Ghazzavi brothers. The funeral rites of the latter two were held in the late morning.

“A group of members of the occupation forces dressed in civilian clothes entered with weapons fitted with silencers and killed three people,” Dr. Naji Nazzal, the facility’s medical director, told AFP.

“The operation took place in the rehabilitation department on the third floor, where Bassel Ghazzawi had been receiving treatment since October 25,” the doctor said, adding that the man “can no longer walk at all.”
